Still on the Right Track

Good news, race fans. I weighed in yesterday and I'm still going down. I lost .6 pounds bringing my total weight loss with Weight Watchers to 18.4 pounds.

I stopped weighing myself when I was at my heaviest, but I estimate that I am down about 40 pounds in total. That translates roughly into 6 dress sizes!

I feel so much better about myself and the way I look. I even went and cut 4 inches off my hair as a little mini-makeover.

I still have a long way to go, but it is a nice feeling to know that I am finally making some real progress.

In the next few months, I am going to go through my closet and get rid of all my big clothes so that I am not even tempted to go back. I'm going to keep plugging away. Maybe the next time you see me, you won't even recognize me!

I Do the Weird Stuff

My very good buddy Claudia got me a signed Captain Hammer t-shirt at Comic-Con this past weekend! I'm so excited because it's signed by Nate Fillion himself. I don't have that many signed things so I don't even want to wear or wash it!

For Captain Hammer, I will definitely do the weird stuff. ooooh yeah. so awesome.

Barefoot Jogging?

Sometimes you see the most random things when you are just driving down the street...

Today I saw a dude running with no shoes of any sort when I was out driving. I noticed him because he was shaking his feet at the intersection because they were obviously burning hot. He also had no shirt. I almost thought that he was running from the cops except that he had an iPod with him.

So, after the light changed he ran across the blazing hot street and kept on jogging. so weird.

Even Steven

As a quick update, I weighed in today and I was exactly the same weight. I have been consistently going down for the past 3 weeks and then fell off the wagon pretty hard over the weekend, eating wise. Luckily, I was good about keeping my physical activity up so it all came out in the wash.

I am really close to losing 20 pounds (down about 35-40 pounds overall) so I need to re-double my efforts to get my next fuzzy star. I appreciate any and all support you can give me. Thanks in advance, bitches!

Swimming Burns Up the Calories

I'm always on the lookout for the best way to burn calories in the shortest period of time. I'm still wearing Claudia's bodybugg and constantly checking it to see where I can get the biggest bang for my buck so to speak. Well, I have discovered that swimming laps burns a ton of calories. I can actually burn more calories in 45 minutes of swimming than an hour on the elliptical. WOW!

The other great part about swimming is that it is great for your joints. My knee still feels great.
I just have to get myself a hot swim cap and goggles to protect my hair and eyes since I will be a new fixture at the pool at my gym. sooo hot.

Triumphant Return

Last night was my big return to my favorite class at the gym with Lady Hector. Overall, it went well and my knee feels fine and dandy today.
At first, I felt a little awkward doing my own modifications during the squats and leg lunges, but then I looked up. I realized that Lady Hector was gloriously blazing the trail with her own non-sensical crazy modifications. She just doesn't care what people think (or blog). I guess I was wrong about her all along.

Thanks Lady Hector!

Sick Puppies

The results are in from the Lady Hector poll. Thank you to those folks that voted! Even if you thought about voting, that counts in my book.

Anyhoo, the ultra-scientific poll results show that you like your Lady Hector stories as dirty as possible--truth be damned! You are all warped, twisted, sick puppies, but I wouldn't have you any other way. Love ya!

Wii Safari

Okay, people. I want a Wii but they are more difficult to find than a decent, single guy at a club in Las Vegas on a Saturday night. Got it? good.

Here's the plan. If you people see one, let me know. Hands in the center. Goooooooooo team!

Rough Night

Clearly, I have not been doing my TV homework. I honestly had no idea that Season 5 of Project Runway started tonight. Since I didn't know, my DVR wasn't set. The problem is that I am totally addicted to So You Think You Can Dance, so even though the DVR was actually recording SYTYCD, I was switching back and forth between both shows.

I managed to miss substantial portions of both shows to make it an equally frustrating experience. Yes, I am a dummy. And yes, I will talk to you about it for the next week. Prepare yourself.

Going Down, Down, Down!

Good news folks! Today was weigh-in day and I lost another 1.6 pounds bringing me closer and closer to my goal. In fact, I am soooo close to dropping the next middle digit that my middle number that my leader told me to eat one less point. That may not mean a whole lot to regular folks, but in Weight Watchers-talk, it's a big deal!
The important part is that the weight is going dooooown. WOOOO-HOOO!

What Goes Around Comes Around

So, after giving Lady Hector such a hard time about humping to the beat of her own drummer in the gym. Well, due to my ongoing knee issues, I will be forced to do modifications in Lady Hector's class because I can't do any squats or lunges until my knees get stronger.
That means that some smart know-it-all is snickering under her breath in the back of her breath about how I'm obviously a weirdo. Well, I guess I deserve that.
Be careful who you make fun of--they may put some kind of a curse on you.... soooo not awesome.

Beautiful Day

Today I reached a major milestone in my weight loss goals today. I was so happy that I dragged my husband to come look at the scale this morning. Even my little dog came over to came over to see what all the fuss was about and then ran off when she realized that it wasn't a treat or a toy for her.

I was pretty surprised because my knee problems have really limited my ability to get in any exercise. So far, I've really, really depended on exercise so we'll see what happens next.

We've Been Cruelly Tricked!

You may have noticed that the delay since my last post has been uncharacteristically long. Well, folks, we have been the victims of a double cross.

I have been having knee problems so sadly I was unable to witness the spectacular Lady Hector display in person last Monday. Two of my "friends" promised to give me allll the details the next day.

Well, on Tuesday they gave me all the details...plus one more. I have to admit, it was pretty funny. I wasn't sure how to handle it on my blog, so in the interest of fairness AND entertainment I created a poll. (see the right column of the blog) Vote on the element you think was the embellishment that they added to the story. I will reveal the detail next week.

Let's see if you guys can guess the truth...or whether you like Lady Hector at her Flashdance best....awesome.

She's a Maniac, Maniac

Evidently I missed a Lady Hector performance for the ages last night at the gym. It involved a white tank top, a bottle of water.....and no bra. AWESOME.

Tao Tight But Freebies are the Key

I scored an invitation to the Us Weekly party last Thursday but I didn't feel like going out.

Turns out I didn't miss much because they weren't really giving that many freebies away. My friend only got some kind of oatmeal cereal bar thing-a-ma-bob.

Apparently it was basically all women so you'd think that they would have had more vendors since we're pretty spoiled when it comes to getting freebies for showing up to events. We all know that I'm there for the freebies, not to get my picture on any website. no way, baby.

Here's the scoop: My friend reports that the Tao Beach area is nice but it overlooks the Palazzo condo tower which is still under construction. I'm sure as the construction comes along there will be more events. If I get any more invitations, I will let you know. It's good to be in Vegas, kids.

Anarchy + Fireworks = Awesome

Happy 4th of July, guys!

I think my favorite celebration is the all night unorganized anarchy going on at a field at the Moapa Indian reservation right now.

There is a gas station on the reservation that sells all sorts of illegal fireworks. Of course, the state cop surround the gas station ready to give you a ticket if you try to take them back to your house.

So...people to go the field and light them off. They have been there since yesterday in an totally unorganized chaos lighting off huge-ass, illegal fireworks. The poor Moapa fire engine calmly goes around putting out all the brush fires.

Evidently, it turns out to be an uninterrupted display of pretty nice fireworks for a really long time. So since there is no fireworks show on the strip and you don't want to go o one of the shows at one of the parks around the Valley, maybe next year you maybe you might want to check out the scene at the Moapa Reservation. There are absolutely no precautions or facilities--so be prepared. Don't burn the whole thing down, guys!

The Train's A' Comin'

Tomorrow is weigh in day at Weight Watchers. You know what that means--another nervous post full of hand wringing and second guessing. Today will be no different. I have been really good this week with my activity and up until today have been good with my food choices.

At lunch, my less-than-secretive poker face at lunch almost touched off a near riot amongst office co-workers about what was appropriate and not appropriate to say to me about my clearly not kids-size spaghetti and meatballs at Macaroni Grill. In the end, I think everything got worked out, but it was pretty awkward for several hours. I blame food!

I'll keep my fingers crossed that I get some quality poopage between now and noon tomorrow. As always, I'll let you know.
